Goodreads Synopsis: “Georgie McCool knows her marriage is in trouble; it has been in trouble for a long time. She still loves her husband, Neal, and Neal still loves her, deeply — but that almost seems beside the point now.

Maybe that was always beside the point.

Two days before they’re supposed to visit Neal’s family in Omaha for Christmas, Georgie tells Neal that she can’t go. She’s a TV writer, and something’s come up on her show; she has to stay in Los Angeles. She knows that Neal will be upset with her — Neal is always a little upset with Georgie — but she doesn’t expect him to pack up the kids and go home without her.

When her husband and the kids leave for the airport, Georgie wonders if she’s finally done it. If she’s ruined everything.

That night, Georgie discovers a way to communicate with Neal in the past. It’s not time travel, not exactly, but she feels like she’s been given an opportunity to fix her marriage before it starts…

Is that what she’s supposed to do?

Or would Georgie and Neal be better off if their marriage never happened?”

My Review: I can I say how much I love this book. This book was so amazing I couldn’t believe it. I loved Eleanor and Park that was great too. So going into this book I already had high expectations for this author. I do admit being an adult book I wasn’t so sure how it would go.  The author has such unique way of telling a story but also making it come alive and thrive leaving you want more and more. I would recommend this book for people who loved her others books as well as someone who is in the mood for a cutesy romantic novel.

The plot is very nicely done. Georgie McCool is having a bumpy patch in her marriage. She works non-stop and isn’t home much to see her kids. She feels that her marriage is almost over. Until one night she uses an old phone in her bedroom that lets her talk to her husband from the past. Through this whole story Georgie begins to develop and realize that she needs Neal and she is not making her family a big priority. I think this shows what marriage can look like but you have to remember all the good times and the bad times. This is very good book to be read during the holidays season cause it shows how family is very important. In the end you see where Neal asks her to marry her and it so sweet because you could assume that this phone could of been the reason they are together. Georgie got a chance to remember and refall in love with her husband all over again. I would love to see this as a Christmas movie because it would fit with it.

I have high hopes for the other two books by Rainbow Rowell and I’m really hoping to get them this year. I can’t wait to see more of this fantastic author. This book is five stars.
